Who Plasma Helps
Plasma is used to manufacture a variety of medications, including Immune Globulins (purified antibody preparations) and other protein products. People who receive medications created from plasma (or the proteins found in plasma) may have serious or life-threatening conditions such as hemophilia or immune system deficiencies. As well as some medications created from plasma help prevent or treat diseases such as hemolytic disease of the newborn, hepatitis B or chickenpox.
Since human plasma can not be recreated in a laboratory, the only way these medications can be created is from compassionate plasma donors continuing to donate.
At Cangene Plasma Resources, each one of our plasma donors is important.
